BC - EIG Fundraising tour pictures. Our 2010 fundraising tour finished with enormous success in Slovenia. The tour was run with 14 participants from the UK, incl. several members of the Chair of Butterfly Conservation Society. Despite that we had some bed weather we observed 109 species of butterflies (with extension), and some other goodies, like a pair of Wallcreeper with chick. 100% of the profit going to a Trust, which is buying lands for the benefit of endangered butterflies, under the supervision of BC. If you are interested in our 2011 fundraising tour (most possibly to Montenegro), please ask for details! Please note that 20% of the profit of ANY butterflies tour are going directly to the Trust. More details later here.

(21, August, 2010)

Approaching the cliffs of Mt. Mangart, habitat of 10+ Erebia spp. (incl. Lorkovich's Brassy Ringlet), Shepheards's Fritillary, Alpine Blue and some good birds, incl. Wallcreeper, Rock Thrush, Snowfinch and Ptarmigan.

-So, which Dusky Grizzled Skipper is it???

Neil, on the way to Edelweiss.

Maurice, fixing a butterfly on flower for photography...

We have got Lorkovich's Brassy Ringlet finally.

-Chapman's Blue, or not???

One of our cool dining spot in a semi-cave, somewhere on the Karst.

Barbara, Maurice and Safi on the plateau of Mt. Nanos.

David and Roger, "tickling the balls" of a Dryad.

Others are joining the tickling competition as well...

Finally a real Alcon Blue... not eggs only.

Roger, giving a speach to our beloved driver, Marci, at the last days.

Freshly emerged Purple-edged Coppers... was a perfect end, at least for me.

David Dennis, vice-chair of BC telling his incredible poem, written the night before, "The Trials of Being a Great Sooty Satyr..." at our farewell dinner in Trieste, Italy.

The group at Lake Bled.
